Our final goal that should be accomplished is to make contributions to the modern super aging society as experts on the field of oral health and social welfare. The major subjects of our research are as follows.
 

  • Development of a nasal vaccine adjuvant with anti-immune aging effects and clarification of its mechanisms
  • Establishment and implementation of a new periodontal disease prevention method based on peptides derived

from human salivary proteins

  • Elucidation of the mechanism of salivary antigen-specific secretory IgA antibody production
  • Development of a new adjuvant to enhance salivary antigen-specific secretory IgA antibody production

for infection prevention

  • Exploration of new functions of saliva secretory-IgA antibodies
  • Elucidation of the functions of a novel mucosal adjuvant aimed at the development of an atherosclerosis

prevention vaccine

  • Effects of a rare sugar on Candida growth and hyphal germination
  • Promotion activities for the application of fluoride in school dental health for caries prevention
  • Research on the relationship between oral health literacy and social frailty
  • Regional disparities in oral frailty and oral health literacy

In our laboratory, we are conducting the following research and activities in order to explore issues in the fields of oral health and social welfare in today's super-aging society, and to propose measures that can contribute to the world from the standpoints of oral health and social welfare professionals.
